# Sales assignment: should we pursue the opportunity — and how?

> **Background reference only — not a separate workshop task.** During the
> scheduled workshop, use the Sales step inside E4 instead.

## Situation

NCPA appears interested, but the opportunity record, customer messages, and product
material do not fully agree. Your job is to recommend the next commercial step
without promising capabilities or certainty that the sources do not support.

## Use these sources

- `00-brief/`
- `01-customer-and-business/`
- `02-product-and-demo/product-sheets/`
- `02-product-and-demo/demo-plan/risk-log.md`
- `04-finance/price-scenarios.csv`
- `07-inbox/inbox-sales@northstar-demo.invalid.md`

## Deliverables

Complete `08-output-templates/sales-recommendation-template.md` with:

1. a stakeholder table;
2. confirmed needs and evidence;
3. assumptions or conflicts that must not be treated as facts;
4. at least three questions that must be answered before a binding proposal;
5. a draft next customer contact;
6. one decision: **go**, **no-go**, or **go with conditions**.

## Acceptance criteria

- Every material factual claim cites at least one source ID.
- Conflicting sources are described explicitly.
- Product limitations are not rewritten as capabilities.
- The recommendation identifies an owner for every blocking question.
- The team records one AI suggestion it rejected or corrected and why.
- The group can use the [closing questions](../11-exercises/closing.md) to
  reflect on its experience.

## Stretch

Turn your final prompt sequence into a six-step reusable workflow for evaluating
a future sales opportunity with imperfect source material.
